17% Giles 202
I have a Lanier 17% Giles 202 that was professionally built by an aeronautical engineer. The craftsmanship of this model was outstanding.
The trouble is, I can seem to land it without tearing he gear out of the plane. As soon as I cut throttle, it drops like a rock. Also, eaven at speed, too much elevator gets me a snap roll. On the first flight (before I knew about the snap roll problem) I made a beautiful approach and even more excellent snap roll into the ground. We fly off of a grass field which tends to stress the gear more than normal (www.charlescountyrc.org).
The plane has an OS .25 FX and at speed its a bullet. Takeoff is straight and normal. Flight is stable (except see above) and the plane is very responsive.
Has anyone else experienced these types of issues?
Thanks
David
