Help,
I'm not much of a pilot figure painter so I'm looking for pre-painted pilots. Mostly, I need 1/7 scale pilots but maybe 1/6 or 1/8 would work........both civilian and military (WWII). I need something immediately to finish a model and cannot locate anything. I've been to Polk's Hobbies and there are a couple but nothing that tripped my trigger except EVA.........to large and ANN........close. Oh.......forgot to mention, I don't need the full-body just yet.......just a bust, but I'll need full body eventually
Please help,
Andy

Looks like you need to upgrade your pilot painting skills. You don't have to create something that will be in the Museum on Modern Art here, just something that looks ok from a few feet away. That way there isn't any need to depend on others to provide you with something that you need. You'll be glad you learned and you'll have a freedom to choose your subjects. I encourage you to give it a try..your efforts may surprise you. Good Luck.

Hi,
Go to Dollar Stores and find Action figures that are perfect for 1/6 to 1/7 scale. Can cut them at torso and use as bust. You will find people asking where you can buy such gems... Dai Phan

BobH,
Thanks so much for the encouragement! I went to the hobby store today and bought some acrylic paints and started this new adventure. The face is done and looking darn nice if I do say so myself. I took my time and am now sure that I can do this. It helps to have a soft kick in the butt to realize one's potential.......if I can build nice planes.......I can paint a pilot and like you said.......I'm not depending on anyone else to get this done.
Thanks again,
Andy

Andy, you just made my day, Congratulations!!! I'm just happy that you tried it. You are absolutely right, if you can build nice planes you can do all the other stuff too. Most people can build nice planes. A lot of it is just having the right techniques and patience. Any way.. please post a picture if you can of your guy.. thanks again.

If you ever need a real scale pilot , theres a guy in the UK , dont know if its Pete but I can get you the sight , for $48 bucks you get a 1/6 scale pilot in the proper atire for the era of the plane you are flynig . You will needed to make him lighter but thats easy , he aslo makes light weight one but they are very very pricey -around $98

Here's a link to Pete's pilots. I just received a 1/6 pilot from him... the 1st one he sent me got lost in the mail, but Pete was nice enough to mail me another one.
Good stuff and not pricey.
