Does anyone know of a website that has pictures of a P-51C. This is the one that has a dorsal fin, but still has a turtledeck like the P-51B. I have the Squadron book, but it only has a few pictures of this aircraft.
Thanks,
Kyle

The C model Mustangs were basically identical to the B's, except they were built by North American in Dallas. The dorsal fin extension was generally a squadron modification done in the field to aid in correcting the takeoff swing. The Aircam book #5 on the P-51A/B/C has a few color drawings of Bs and Cs with the fin extension.
Drop me an email and I'll scan them and send them to you.

The Minnesota wing of the Confederate Air Force, uh..I mean, the Comemorative Air Force has a P-51C done up in Tuskeegee colors. I took some pics of it last year at a local airshow. Jaime is right, the dorsal fin has nothing to do with whether it's a B model or C model. It's somewhat like the difference in the D model and the K model, ie., outside of some very minor differences in equipment and where they were built, they are basically the same plane.
