I have 2- Bearcats built after Rare Bear. I was curious if anyone else has built/flown clipped wing Bearcats. I just got one back in the air after a 3 year diversion.

The nicer bearcat is undergoing a new paint job from 2 gear up landings. The sport bearcat has been re-built 2x in the last 8 years. It was originally monocoated and now is fiberglasses. Pictures are shown in monocoat.

Here is a misshap from years ago when the Inovative models spinner self distructed. The front of the airplane "Exploded" and I was able to get it back in. Notice engine running on 1/2 propeller blade and piece of propeller departing in 1st photo:

Notice gap between wing and fues in photo "miss5.jpg". The front 2 wing blocks were split and front wing bolts were gone. Only one wing bolt in the back was in. It landed with only 1 wing bolt! After the last photo, I grabbed the engine, moved it back and forth and the firewall came right off.
This airplane has been re-built 2x since. Not from damage but from normal wear and tear.

I would have to say luck and timing. The model is a Ziroli Bearcat. Here is the link to the plans:

It is their standard Bearcat:
http://www.ziroliplans.com/cat_frameset.html
I clipped the wings based on some 3-views, made up a canopy and had it vacu-formed. The wingspan is clipped 12". It was 86", now it's 74". Ailerons are 6" wide.
Edited because I can't spell any better then when I was 12!
