Default How to mount a replica engine

Okay, I can't find this anywhere. I need some help how to mount a replica engine to the front of a big Gee Bee. It's 1/5 scale and there is a big hole. I have the replica motor painted and now, does anyone have any suggestions to mount it? I've seen it glued to the cowl, but that looks like it might be a big hard to line up just right. I was thinking of extending spacers from the fire wall and engine and mounting it that way. Will this stand up to the air pressure that some high speed passes will press against it? Any suggestions?

In part, this depends on what the dummy engine is made of. If you're talking about a resin casting or vacuum formed ABS you'll need to do it one way, and if a plastic WB kits another way. Here's how master modeler Tom Pierce did it on his SBD Dauntless:

(This site is an absolutely priceless source of scale-building info, BTW. I just wish it were available in book form so I could thumb through it!)
