What really never stops amazing me is that someone will take credit for something that they haven't done. Though, come to think of it, it is not uncommon, and is done under many guises. The thing for those doing it is that their credibility is gone. Although that doesn't seem to bother some repetitive offenders, like politicians.
But, as my brother said, "life is too short to dance with an ugly girl"!

Punish him?
Ohh yes.
If it's a decent plane and you're willing to drop a few $$$ on getting revenge... buy the same model! Keep it in your car under a tarp, then when mr. braggard shows up with his scratch built scale masterpiece, put your plane next to his on the flight line. That should suitably embarass him, without a single spoken word
Then flog it on eBay to recoup some of your money.
Its identical to the other 4 sitting on the flight line.

There are a lot of people with honesty and integrety. This one is just a poor soul that is the bad apple. Just ignore him and take pleasure in what you and your buddies build and fly. I don't build very well but I do enjoy it (that is what its about for me). Most of my flying friends just fly ARF's and thats OK with me also.

Here's a twist on things...
What happens when someone (that I know very well) builds a COPY of an ARF from scratch, adding details or minor structural changes along the way? Someone who is 99% honest(most of the time) and has a good reputation(I think), likes the plane, couldn't find a kit, and just didn't want an ARF.

( just for the sake of discussion.... er... hypothetically, of course
