One of my flying buddies has it, and he loves it! It was his 3rd plane, and had no problems building or flying it. It is also one of the most rugged planes I have ever seen. An equipment problem caused him to do a nose dive from about 20 feet. It did split the fire wall, and some of the fuse sheeting, but it did survive! A lesser plane would have been garbage. As for the retracts, I believe it could be done. The wing MIGHT be a little thin to fully enclose the gear, but it is a sport scale after all. It would also require a servo for each aileron, because the single servos aileron push rods might interfere with the retracting gear. So my advice would be go for it! Oh, and don't forget, the ARF version accepts retracts, so why couldn't the kit version be modified? Good luck, and post the results if you go through with it. David

This is a great flying plane. Build it as per plans and fly the wings of it. As for the retracts, any thing can be done if you set your mind to it, however on this Corsair it would be a job to make it happen. It would have to almost be a set of air retracts, however the larger concern is weight. The kit builds a little on the heavy side, but with a strong 46 on the nose, it is not a problem to fly. Good Luck with yours, Dave

My good friend did it with a pair of robart 615 rotating retracts. He had a OS 70 for power. It flew for 3 years till he sold it. I know you can install them because I helped him do it.

I have one....I just finished the building process last month. It is highly modified with Century Jet Retracts 1/4 inch, full sheeted wings laid over by fiberglass and carbon fiber in high stress areas. It also has a Magnum 1.08 in front with the total weight coming to 12 lbs. dry. I'll post a few pictures for your viewing pleasure this evening! If you have any questions on construction please let me know.

I didnt' build the plane, but bought it built from a fellow modeler with servos all in and connected, and an ASP .46 in the front. It is so easy to fly, it's almost trainer-like. Take-off, flight, landing, everything is just perfect wiht this plane. Great Planes did this plane up to be easy, and that it is.
