I am currently restoring a Byron Staggerwing, 1/4 scale. It will be powerd by a fuji 50 engine. Does anybody has any information about balance point and control throw? Any help would be welcome.

If you will respond with your e-mail address to me at [email protected], I have a Byron Staggerwing kit at home. I will look in the manual and see if I can get you the CG. It will have to wait until the weekend however.

Thank you for answering my post Rich. However, I already had an answer to my question. I can keep you up to date with my flight tests (scheduled for early June) if you want to.

I am building a 64" Staggerwing from Sid Morgan Plans. The CG is shown on the attached photo of the plans (CG dot on door). Although all models are not the same, where is the CG on the Byron model? Another modeler built the Stagerewing from RCM plans and his CG is near the leading edge of the top wing.

Taking measurements from supplied drawing I'd put the c.g. balance point ahead of the little hatch. Have plenty of elevator throw on expo for first flights. Incrementally move c.g. aft to your liking.
