I have been thinking about getting the pc9 possibly the seagull version because its cheap, but I was just wondering if there were any other arf plane kits that wern't expencive looked good flying or similar to the pc9 and that were a joy to fly, something to just have fun with.
Thanks

You will like the Seagull PC 9! It was my second plane and I enjoyed it more than anything I have flown to date. It flys a bit fast in comparison to a trainer, and one needs to keep the speed up a bit (hold 1/4 throttle until on final) then it will almost land itself. It's just like it was on a string, just gently flair after crossing the fence. It's an excellent fun-fly plane. I had a Irvine 53 on mine, and although not unlimited as I had it propped, it did have good vertical, flew inverted with just a bit of down elevator, and knife-edged quiet well. All other "normal!" aerobatic maneuvers were a snap.
One word of caution; When mounting your engine inverted, use caution when installing the fuel tank. Make sure you have it in proper alignment with your carburetor.
Unfortunately, my original is no longer one or even two pieces due to a glitch that severed the wing on one side about 6 inches from the fuselage, damaged the fuselage and tail feathers. I now have another one sitting in a box ready to be put together. I hope to get it ready before spring.
Oh, and by the way, Model Airplane News thinks highly of this ARF as well.
And remember, "Experience is a hard teacher. She gives the test first, and the lesson later!"

I was looking at the seagull pc9 yesterday and got the feeling it wasn't bad, I also got a recomendation about the model today from a member in the club. I already have a piper cub with the engine inverse mounted (my first plane and scratch built) and I didn't have too much trouble with that. I already wanted a pc9 but that made up my mind, Thanks
