I am kit-bashing a Citabria into a Aeronca Champ. I know it isn't exactly scale, but it's probably as close as my limited skills will ever get to scale. I am looking for a source to "capture" an Aeronca logo as appears on the tail fin of some of them. A slightly different logo appears on the side or cowling of others which have been rebuilt, but I would certainly look at any of those, too! I have sites with many pictures of the plane I am trying to model, but I don't have the ability (software or operating) to "lift" the logo off these pictures with enough definition to serve as decal masters. Any help? Dzl

It's taken me a while to figure out how to give you a couple of pics. Here are small and larger images of one of the logos. There is also a pic of a Champ showing it on the tail fin. Hope this works!

Thanx, drone pilot; it was the sizing that was bothering me. I thought I would have to have the right size image for the sign shop to do the job. I'll find out soon enough, though! Dzl

Take those pictures of the logo and plane to your local sign shop and they can size it to what ever you want and can, if they are big enough , cut them from vinyl or print them on sticky back clear material. There are other vinyl cutters available on the web and some advertise in RC Report and maybe the AMA Mag. I used a photo of the cowling logo of a Tri-Pacer and gave dimension wanted and they came out great. Cliff
