I agree... The prop.... But, I must ask... Where are the servos for the controls?? Can you get a better pick of the cockpit???

Very nice model and very convincing placement of the model (and of the camera). Well done!

Sorry to digress hope nobody minds but figured this may well be a very good place to ask opinions regarding quality scale aircraft lighting.... My question to the experienced scale modellers out there is which products do you think are the best for hi-vis applications on our R/C scale aircraft ie strobe, nav and landing lights with good daytime visibility qualities.

Cheers ~ Marty

Marty,

There are a few to choose from here in the USA.
We have:
(1) Details 4 scale
(2) Electro~Dynamics
(3) All Scale
and a few others... I think most use the Details 4 scale than anyone else... Here is the links

The best part of this thread is the amount of time you need to stare at the pictures to convince yourself they areally models and not full size aircraft!

Hey Marty,

since you are in oz, you may as well order from Europe as from the US. In Germany look up
optotronix and airfighter.eu: Unfortunately I cannot find an "english" button on optotronix. but Airfighter has one.

OK fytrjok what kind of plane is the pink one? I don't remember seeing any fighters in pink. There was that sub in the old Cary Grant movie but no aircraft.

The RAF used pink on some photo reconaissance aircraft including Spitfires and Mustangs, although it is generally considered to have been a much more pale color than what is depicted in fytrjok's picture. (Almost white really, see pic below.)

There was, for a time, a restored Pr.XI Spitfire painted up in a PRU pink scheme which was much too bright and this is probably where the idea for the color on the model came from.

I wonder why such a pale colour did it help camouflage it when it was over a target?

The PRU "pink" Spitfire was used early in the war, mostly for bomb damage assessment over France. They'd send them up at sunset and just before sunrise to hopefully avoid enemy fighters. The shades of pink varied somewhat due to the field applied paint which was a mixture of the roundrel red and the invasion stripe white. By the way, the plane, a Yellow Spit, belongs to MY WIFE!
