Default scale knobs

As I started building the radio set for my L-4, one of the items that I was having a hard time to make, and make it look real were some of the knobs. After looking through my collection of storage boxes I came across the answer. The top of a wire nut was the answer.

Wire nuts come in all sizes and shapes. Just cut the top off of one and glue it to a toothpick. The radios are about finished and ready to be installed.

Pretty dang nice, Cubman. Are they FM or the new DSS?

Post another pic of them with something to show scale, like a quarter, or piece of a ruler. Those look damn good. Are you gonna have the trailing antenna and take-up reel also?

A new photo with a quarter in the shot. The trailing antenna has been on my mind for a few months. I have yet to come up with an idea to make it work.

Well as with some of the other scale items I have done there will be instructions down the road on my site. I’m in the process of finishing the prints up to build the ¼ scale L-4 I wanted it true 100% scale. I don’t know when I will get to it but it will be down the road. I will also have the radio face plates available for sale. I have put several hours in just drawing the face plates.

Excellent idea. Falls into the "Why didn't I think of that" category.
