I want to put a scale gas cap, step and handles on the fuse on my Hanger 9 PTS J-3 Cub. Any idea's how or what materials I can use? My mind is drawing a blank. The step and handle I could make out of wire. However the gas cap, well... give me some ideas please. [&:]

I made my step out of 1/8" brass tubing, cut and soldered; the ends are flattened out and screwed to the fuse bottom with #00 screws. The lift handle just forward of the tail is a piece of styrene plastic rod. I made a couple of small holes in the lower longeron, at angles to each other, and bent the rod and stuck it in the holes. The fuel cap is made from the end of a Bic pen, with a straight pin bent and cut for the fuel gauge.
An alternative to the brass tubing could be 4-40 size linkage rod, but you have to figure out how to fasten it. I can't pick something up without looking at it and asking myself "what can I make out of this?"
