Anyone have any experience with the Fusco models?

http://www.fuscoaircraft.com/

Mainly interested in the quality and fit of their parts.

The 1/5 EZ and the 1/4 Quickie are for experienced builders and pilots.

The 33% EZ is just now hitting the streets and will be a huge hit.

Default FUSCO AIRCRAFT

I made a purchase a few months ago for a long ez. It arrived just fine except the canopy was damaged. I did get another one free of charge.

Glass was sent on another shipment but arrived a couple weeks later. I was satisfied with the customer service.

I am just about done with the kit. I would recommend that their manual to be updated it is out of date. In general I found the laser cutting balsa to be excellent, glass good and customer service to be above average.

If I could afford the berkut I would buy it in a heart beat but wife would leave me. Hey that's not a bad idea.

I have the 1/5 scale Longeze kit about 1/2 finished, the Quickee kit (not started), the 1/3 scale Berkut is shipping to me very soon and I have the big King Air on order.

I have been nothing but happy with Val'a and Fusco Aircraft. There was a problem with a laser cutting error with the Quickee (no biggy, a hole is cut off center in a bulkhead). An e-mail to Val'a and the error is now fixed and an offer of replacement was made. It's a simple fix, fill with a dowel and re-drill in the proper place so I felt, for me, there was no need to wait for a replacement.

When you contact Fusco you are really talking/emailing the owner and he goes out of the way to ensure customer satisfaction. If they keep coming out with the "dare to be different" models, I will continue to buy from them.

The laser cutting is great, the glass work is good (looks EXCELLENT on the giant scale models) and the customer service is top-notch. What more could you ask for?

Hi Sam,
I will be happy to sell you my 1/5 scale Long EZ for 1/2 price. Yes, a complete never started kit for 50% less than internet price. (Total $110.00) At any unknown quality that is still a bargan!
I live in Orlando too so maybe we could meet at a local field sometime? I belong to both RCACF and Osceola fliers.

Default Berkut -- NR Dreams

I would like to ask the huge "Universe" audience if
------------- ANYONE ---------------------
has received their 1/3 scale ARF Berkut to date?

I have a feeling no one will be coming forward.

Marc (RC UNIVERSE), Does RC Universe have their Berkut yet to do a review with? I'm certain you ordered in December too?

Please don't provide their dribble about their schedules, their quality, ect, ect, ect.

Any other replies guys-- are simply not welcome.
I too have heard ENOUGH of the assurances of soon and really soon, and how "backed up" they are.

You posted "just now hitting the streets" on 4-2-03. Been more than 30 days now, so,
If what you say is a fact Matt, do you have your "Distributor" 1/3 scale kit yet?
Any kits ship to the state of Florida from your order book?

A simple YES or NO will do. Please don't explain a NO answer for me.
Thanks.

Default Why the negativity?

Plane Geezer,

I'm the designer/engineer of the new kits from Fusco Aircraft, including the giant scale Long EZ. I speak to Val'a Fusco every day, and he is an honorable gentleman, working very hard, as I am.

Fusco Aircraft is a new and rapidly growing company, trying very hard to give modelers some kits that exist nowhere else. (and we will, this year)

Yes, we've had some unexpected delays in shipping, (already apologized for, on many occasions) and when the article on it's development is released soon, you'll understand why the delays occured. It should be obvious that no customer is more upset about those delays than we are. Individuals that choose to use a shipping delay as an opportunity to accuse the company of somehow being unethical, cause us harm, even though those claims are unfounded. The shipping delay is the ONLY issue that actually exists, and the kits will all be delivered soon.

Fusco Aircraft understands that some people cannot wait on delivery, and has offered refunds to any customers who feel that they cannot wait a little longer. So, if you're unhappy enough to begin posting negative remarks about the company on a public forum, why not just get a refund, and buy something else?

The mods we made (at no cost to any customer) were made in the interest of improving the model, and it's going to be a winner. Those of you who ordered early, and are waiting the longest for delivery, are (as it should be) getting the best deal, because the introductory offer was nearly a "giveaway" as it stood, and now you're getting a much improved model at the same price. This is a HUGE, precision scale kit, at a bargain price.

A ittle patience will get you much better results than posting negative remarks that have no bearing on what we're really about.

Have a little more faith. It will pay off, and you'll have a great airplane to fly.

Yeah,
What he said.
If you are unhappy about something, and are offered a refund, take it and try to develop a kit like the Berkut on your own...I think you will be happy to wait, and knowing Mike, it will surely be well worth it.

Default The FUSCO Dribble

Why the negativity??
See why I have only asked for a simple yes or no??

Well heck Mike, Lets just IGNORE what you are doing to your paid in full customers!

BUYERS BEWARE

Hear my fair warning to you mildly skeptical potential customers - given the circumstances of we who only hold a very high priced piece of paper. (a title)

I’m no greedy sucker fellas. I called Val’a prior to purchasing to ask how he could do such a looser deal back in Dec. I’ve been in the hobby long enough to see their loss. I’m stroked into submission with the rational that the LOSS is to be considered their ADVERTISING expense. "Our best advertising is to get the planes on the airfields!"
Good BS. So why isn’t there even ONE airplane plane on an airfields guys?

All I have to say Mike is cut all the crap and
"SHOW ME THE BALSA"

The FUSCO Dribble:
"Yes, we've had some unexpected delays in shipping"
"The mods we made (at no cost to any customer"
"This is a HUGE, precision scale kit, at a bargain price."
"a new and rapidly growing company"
"getting the best deal, because the introductory offer"
"Have a little more faith. It will pay off,"

There is no excuse for a NOW four month "delay", Especially when your distributors are NOW promising a two month turn around on orders placed today.

AGAIN, I would like to ask the huge "Universe" audience if
------------- ANYONE ---------------------
has received their 1/3 scale ARF Berkut to date?

A legitimate question since you guys have been taking money for this plane for over 6 months.

Default Yep

The answer to your "Show me the balsa" is that all kits will be delivered soon. It's been said by me, by Val'a Fusco, and via a press release both here and on the Fusco web site. How many times are enough?

If you have ANY doubts about that, or ANY fear that you are being cheated, you can eliminate your risk immediately and entirely by getting a refund, as offered by Val'a Fusco, and as suggested again by me. With customers like you, who needs enemies?

SELLERS BEWARE!

If you're acting like this, obviously you've never designed and sold kits. You are the customer from (H-E double toothpicks) and I personally would refund your money and exercise my right to refuse service to anyone (If you think this applies to you, then it probably does).

Mike has already written that they're not available yet, so... Duh! Do you think anyone has received it yet?

Personally, I think you want one of these models really badly, and this attitude works at K-Fart or Wally-World, so why not at Fusco?

BTW, it's LOSER!

Anyone else ever see that Simpson's episode where Lisa learns the value of Bit**ing and whining.

Reminds me a lot of all this screaming over Fusco.

If I was Mr. Fusco I would send his money back anyway and tell him where to go and how to get there.

Take a pill man.

Yep?
Yep Mike? Talk about smug? Hope you enjoyed using my money for the past six months.

As I read Mike James response:
"The answer to your "Show me the balsa" is that all kits will be delivered soon."

It is official then!! NO one will be coming forward with their testament of having received this kit. All the talk about Berkut kits having gone out the door & piled on pallets is pure bunk. Not a big surprise.

Deny it as you MUST, but it is Fusco’s many unfulfilled promises to me and continued inadequacy to consummate our deal in a reasonable time that has turned me into this so called "Enemy".

It is Fusco who promised to deliver their ‘deal’ mid-January and not made good of the promise months later. Their printed promise - not mine. It is Fusco who has been less than forthright providing a TRUE and accurate delivery date since the missed mid-January date.

All I see on the web site guys is a FIRST run Prototype that has never even been flown. But ya’ll hang on now cause we will be making yours SOON. Soon can mean anything in the context and (my) past history with Fusco.

You have been warned. Wait till you start seeing these "fantastic American made hand crafted ships" at the field guys before you divvy up your CASH. Might just be the third quarter of 2003. Heck might even be longer.

When they have flight tested this craft and have some real inventory to draw from then would prefer ba a good time to pay, no?

I’m done here - my conscience is now clear for sharing my experiences with any unsuspecting.

Oh, Sorry about the spelling error. Shheeeessshhh.......

Guys, try to remeber, this is a "virtual reality "world. Lighten up, you'll fly better.

Get your money back, buy some balsa or glass and make something.

Good luck.

Another thread regarding Fusco has finally simmered down, lets do the same here.

They are almost caught up, and pretty soon we shall see some quality 1/3 scale kits from them. As far as the 1/5 scale Long-Ez, it is a great kit, plenty of quality parts, and a boatload of extra gear included. For the money, I think it is an excellent deal, as you would have to purchase seperately all of the items anyhow, and Val'a has already included them for you in the kit.

So far construction on mine has been straight forward and the manual, abridged from the original St. Croix manual, is plenty descriptive and easy to understand. I highly recommend the 1/5 scale kit to anyone who is looking to build a Long-Ez. I'm pretty sure Fusco has these kits in stock and can ship one in a heartbeat.

GA_Fanatic, I have a few pictures so far, I'll try to post them in the next couple of days. Nothing really exciting, just some initial construction shots.

After I started on the project, I realized that I needed three pieces of hardware added to my shop in order to keep my sanity and health. I just picked up a JET dust collector, and am currently working on a downdraft table for gathering up the balsa dust while sanding. I'm prone to Sinusitis, so I figured it was worthwhile to delay construction long enough to complete the table. The other piece of hardware I added was a homemade wing press, which I have used to glue and press 4 out of the 6 foam cores with what appears to be some good results. I'll slap some images up as soon as I can.

With the news Allen has brought us tonight, I'm starting to get excited about the big one, hopefully not much longer!

Mr. James, amy thought of doing a glass 50% Quickie?

The current kit is 1/4 scale, and if you double that and go to 1/2 scale, it would be one heck of an aircraft !

Hi Chuck Roast,

Probably not. We have about 2 years worth of projects planned right now, including the 1/6th scale King Air, 1/6th scale Avanti, and two others that are upcoming surprises. (Can't talk about them right now.)

We'd prefer to create all NEW kits, rather than duplicate smaller kits we already have.

Thanks.
