Great engine! A friend's dad has two steam engines and a nice little machine shop to keep them going.

The Engine is from Hanger 9 and fits perfectly inside the cowl, tomorrow I plan to fiberglass the inside of the cowling and affix the faux engine, to cowling. I also received my servos they will also be installed tomorrow as well.

For comparison, Standard Hitec HS311 and Mini HS-225MG Quarter on top of mini

Thanks for the dimension. I can use that same Hanger9 engine in my Pup too. Its cowl is slightly smaller at 6-1/2".
I can relate to the joy of seeing packages arrive. It can be addicting. I am currently awaiting a few things myself (a half pilot, wheels, servo extensions).

OK, Christmas break is over time to get back in my shop, by this weekend I will have clean my shop from stem to stern and if anything gets on my nerves is not being able to find something or the inability to lay something down without turning something else over, so cleaned up it will get. My engine is supposed to be in this Friday and I have servos, and a faux engine to mount and various other things to complete, we also have 1-8 inches of snow in the forecast with temps around 0 and a wind chill of -15 good day to stay in doors wouldn’t you say. Hopefully I will be back on track by this weekend.

Jeff, I know just how you feel. At times my shop gets so bad that a "lose" a tool just as soon as I set it down. I've thoroughly cleaned my shop twice during the Snipe build -- which I hope to get back to immediately upon my return to Japan.

Where did you get the 1/6 Dubro wheels? I have only seen the 1/5 and up. How heavy are they?

1/6 Dubro came from Balsa USA, Dubro are 2.84 oz per wheel. I personally prefer the Williams, they just look better.

Certainly in that size, in fact I just ordered a pair of the Flairs for my 1/6th scale Pup although I already had a pair of the Williams Bros.
I think in some sizes the Williams Bros are fine.

Ok, not much has been accomplished, but I have managed to get the aileron Servos mounted.
Servos are mounted on 1/16 ply and attached to 1/4x1/2 pine blocks. The hatch has been cut undersize to accommodate the covering.

Looking good.
What servos are you using for the ailerons and how will you drive the upper ones?

The Servos I used are Hitec HS-225BB http://www.hitecrcd.com/servos/show?name=HS-225BB
I may have placed them in the wrong position, the plans call for them to be forward against the main spar, I was thinking short throw and placed them as far aft as I could. This may cause me to add weight to the front to counter the position of the servos.
I will use only two servos in the lower wing and connect the upper via a rod, not to scale but this is per the plans, trying to keep things simple.
I will use a 6v 1650ma Flight pack.

I just discovered this one on the Balsa USA website. Having just finished a 1/6th Tigermoth (an old Pilot kit), I'm looking at this one now (yeah, like I need another project,... but...). I'm very interested, and will be patiently waiting for more posts. Btw, I see B-USA now has a 1/6 Nieuport,.. I like the Pup better. "More posts please".

I have an OS-FS70 NIB looking for a home!

I am have my eye on the N17 now that it has been released. I have a Saito .56 that needs a home. This build seems to have hit the brakes. I am looking forward to seeing it completed as well.

The pup that BUSA had on display at the Toledo show was powered by a .40 surpass. I spoke to a rep there that had flown it, and he said it was plenty of power for this plane, and cruised around fine at half throttle.

I think the largest engine I would consider would be a surpass .52 or a Saito .56. The .72 would be way too much.
