I have the Balsa USA 1/3 Scale J3 Cub. It weighs approximately 25 lbs. Any suggestions for a 4 stroke engine that will handle it at 4600 ft. elevation?

You don't have to reinvent the wheel here... G-62 with a spring starter. Last long time, run all day, proper weight and balance and no ignition battery required and plenty of power. Enjoy!

My good friend Larry had one for years with the OS 320. Sold it and is building a new one and will put a DA 50 in it. I am in the process of finishing one also and I have a DA 50 for it also. The OS sounded good - had adequate power - but did not hold up well to all the flying time he put on the plane.

The OS Pegasus is the way to go. Beautiful engine, great sound, plenty of power. Anything else pales by comparison. Nothing against two stroke gas burners but I just don't think that a Cub should sound like a weed-whacker

The pegasus is nice, no question, but it's a 1/4 scale engine....looks too small in the 1/3 scale cub. I've got the Kavan FK50 for mine - 1/3 scale engine, but only 2 cyl. Can't win 'em all.
