RE: Austar cessna 188 AG Husky Review
Hi Rossco
Had planned to run the engine a bit more and do some tuning but my mate was very eager to do some towing although I was not completely ready, away we went, it worked out fine.
I intended to replace the canopy retaining screws before I made any tows as they were going to snag the towline, and they did, no real problems, some electrical tape allowed us to continue on the day.
Now replaced them with some roundhead 4mm screws and they are fine.
The bridle was setup with a free running/self centering swivel but this was changed to a fixed point on the 3rd tow as the bridle was getting twisted (no swivels on the bridle) and was pulling off centre (something I sort of expected).
Some good quality swivels in the bridle should fix this.
Will do some towing this weekend and let you know how it goes.
I am really impressed with the Husky it flies great, very happy with it.
Heres some pics, more to follow.
Cheers
Paul

Hi Guy's planning way ahead for my first big gas model after flying for 12 year (ic for the first 5 year, now only electric). I'm thinking in many way's this is the perfect model, BUT how do I go about getting one to the UK. Any info on this would be great.
Thanks, oh and great look models BTW.

Can someone please tell me if there are any USA
distributors for the Austars Cessna Ag Husky airplane?
Surely someone by now must have become a distributor.
Thanks!

He is apparently trying to profit off of the kit by about $50 bucks
If it was $795 as with Austars, plus shipping i might do it
850 + Shipping? No thanks.
Thanks anyway for the heads up RC4Funmd!

Dear all Cessna-188 customers:
For the Aghusy, now our team would like to give Free upgraded landing gear. New landing gear has 5mm thickness. It might be better if you have a heavy landing. If you need it, please contact us at ([email protected]).
Customers from America can contact Myers his email ( [email protected]) , we will post him the new landing gear late next week, you guys can share some intl postage (cheap by AirAustralia) and pay him your local postage.
Thank you.

RE: Austar cessna 188 AG Husky Review
hey all, i finally got my cessna in the air on the weekend and all went well for the first 5 minutes. the plane flew well but a few things where seen to come off the plane mid flight, the first thing turned out to be 1/4 of the upper wing covering at the wing tip and othe other was the fake corrogation on the bottom of the flap, but it still flew ok, lastly on the landing one of the wheels shattered but all of this was easily fixed that night and new alloy rims to suit the standard kit tyres have been ordered through trim aircraft in melton vic.

Here in Oz I received the upgraded gears quite promptly, I received them even before I had paid for postage! 2 pairs for the 2 models I purchased. So no problems here.
Just as a side note, I went to look at the second yellow one still in its box and was shocked to find a very large rat and 7 young ones had taken up residence. Apart from the hole in the back of the box and ALL the foam and inner cardboard layer stripped for nest material, luckily the damage to the model was minor. Just a few test chews along the lower firewall. The contents are still airing out though!! I had seen some recent footprints and some droppings at the other end of the workshop and had set a trap, but had no idea that the damn thing was making a house in the agHusky.[:@][:@]
I've been heavily into my competition sailplanes again and been away from home a lot. Haven't flown much power since my last posts. Starting up again and have begun a DA100 powered AMR Giant Stick 85 and will be getting the agHusky I did build into the air again this weekend.

RE: Austar cessna 188 AG Husky Review
I contacted Austars after reading the first msg and received a prompt reply. I also let Dick know that I wanted the gear. I think that my gear is just now in the mail from Dick. So... it all worked out for me. I wondered why no one else in the US wanted to get in on the deal; it would have lowered the per person shipping cost.

RE: Austar cessna 188 AG Husky Review
hello all, tonight i tried to fit the upgraded landing gear to my cessna 188 and to my surprise the holes where to close together by about 4mm. i am wondering if it is just the landing gear that i have recieved that is wrong or all of them, also is anyone else intrested in cnc machined 2 piece alloy rims for there cessna 188's as trim aircraft will be able to supply them soon
