i've never used anything as simple as this: http://www.balsatools.co.uk/#/ultima...per/4569638255

Only had it a few weeks from a friend at the flying club but it is brilliant.

I am trying to figure out what does the cutting? looking at that picture I am guessing you hold an exacto knife down thru the slot? That doesn't seem like it would be accurate, is there a trick I am not seeing?

There is an aligned bottom plate keeping the blade tight and square. The varience along an entire balsa strip is next to nothing.

It looks like a great tool for big jobs. The Master Airscrew Stripper is great from small stuff like rib caps, but not very effective for something like cutting 1/4 square longerons. This tool, however, looks like it could handle this. Am I correct in assuming that you buy only the metal part and have to build your own mounting board?

Now I see the bottom plate confused me, I thought it was a very dark shadow of the top piece...

the longer bed looks like it makes it easier to keep along the fence, but still looks like you have to push much harder than i would imagine, the master airscew although far from perfect is pretty darn good!   don't even get the one i made out any more!  gave up on it.

Yes, you get the top and bottom plates, screws and instructions. It took about 10 mins to build but sames me hours i love it.
