Default transmitter and receiver?

will an e-flite transmitter and mini receiver from a elecric helicopter work in a .40 size plane? my old plane transmitter is dead but i have a e-flite chopper i dont fly anymore and was thinking of transplanting it, i have plenty of servos already.
would that transmitter have enough range for a .40 size plane?

Default RE: transmitter and receiver?

range is the biggest problem and is not recommended. You'll find yourself in trouble and not be able to control the .40 or better on the edges of the range or beyond.
