Does anyone know of the best way to get copies of factory plans for Royal Aircraft Factory designs? Iam specifically interested in the SE5a, FE2b, and FE8.
Thanks.
Thanks.

The KEW archives would be the equivalent of our Smithsonian so that's the place to start. For the SE5a I'd treat the Replicraft drawings as the best reference. For the FE2b the best is, in my opinion, the drawings in the datafile (which are based on but not exactly identical to the "factory drawings").

I would think any info would be at the Imperial War Museum http://collections.iwm.org.uk/ or more likely at the Royal Airforce Museum http://www.rafmuseum.org.uk/london/c...collection.cfm
Certainly the full size FE2b and the SE5A are at the RAF Museum at Hendon which is in north London. I think there may be a FE 8 at the Duxford airfield of the Imperial War Museum near Cambridge, England

Replicraft are great prints; I have the Camel ones. They are also the most organized and cheapest way. For the Camel, Replicraft condenses 300 pages into 5 large drawings. WW1 Aero can be good too.

From: Fairport, NY,
Thanks for all the suggestions. I have send emails to Replicraft and WWI Aero. Duxford has an RE8, not an FE8. I have been poking around on the National Archives site to no avail yet. I will probably send them an inquiry.
