OK...I've posted this over in the radio forum with no solution yet....
Here is the idea.
OS 160 twin, McDaniel 472 Twin cylinder glow driver, JR9303 radio. I was told long ago, and it makes perfect sense to me, that you need to have your glow driver on a switch that is independent of the throttle with a two or more cylinder engine. The idea is that if you loose a cylinder at low altitude, the last thing you want to do is reduce the throttle to re-light the dead cylinder...better just to flip a switch and off you go...I have that setup and it works fine..but I'm tired of flipping the switch on and off in low altitude/low power situations just as a precaution! I know.."then don't".. but that doesn't work for me...
What I would like is to mix a couple of channels on my JR9303 TX so I get both the ability to turn the glow driver "on" manually at any throttle setting, and the "automatic" function of having the glow driver come on at throttle settings less that 1/3rd or 1/4 ...
Now, I know there are smarter glow drivers out there....but I have this one and it is installed and works fine. Also, McDaniel offers a PC Switch that will do what I want, but it means more money and another little electronic unit in the model...
Any ideas??
I'm going to the USSM Championships in September with the Hanriot and I want to get all my ducks in a row before I leave...!!
