I am impressed with the Model Tech product line. I have a SE5a with a Saito FA-56 that was very well built and flies nicely and predictably. Is your Super Cub electric or glow?

It is powered with a thunder tiger pro .46 2 stroke glow engine. It could either be glow or ep, but I already have an electric T-28 trojan, so I wanted to try a nitro powered plane.

Hi I was just looking around to see if anyone had the Super Cub by Model tech. Putting mine together now (for spring) Do you still have yours? Wondered if you have tried full flaps? Any bad about it?

I test hopped my Mpdel Tech Super Cub this Sunday.Flew a lot better then I expected. Normaly with tail draggers I do a couple of high speed taxi checks first. This time I took the runway and opened the throttle. It supprised me no trim was needed.I installed a magnum .91 four stroke which I think is a good match. You have to throttle back for scale cruise speed but its perfect for short field work.Back in the 70's Iflew a full scale 150 supert cub and it flies the same way you need to use the rudder and make trim changes when useing flaps.I need two clicks for half flaps and full down for full flaps.I'm useing the Airtronics RDS8000 radio and it has only two flap setting but they work perfectly.Half and full flap landing are realy fun, three point or wheel landings. Our field elevation is 4183 feet but with the .91 it flies great. Good luck

Thats cool, I put a 82 saito in my super cub. I am at about 238' elevation. I have flown full scale Pa 12+18s But most of my full scale time was in Cessna 150,152,172,182s(my dad was the FBO at the airport here in town)

I went flying on a very windy day about 20 mph If you don't fly in wind in this part of New mexico this time of year you don't fly.I made an full flap approach (DUMB), wind got under the left wing and cartwheeled it and took off the nose and most of the cockpit. I was going to buy a new fuselage but with the difference price I bought a new kit.as I stated in my last thread I had to put about 3 oz. in the nose just behind the prop.with the same wing, engine and radio gear mated to the new fuselage and tail feathers it balance perfectly no weights added.was the differewnce in the wood used ?go figure. I would like to hear if anyone else had weight problems.

no weight problems from my plane ,even without my dubro 5" which weight about pound, yeah i flew in about 20mph wind and she was a handfull and when i went to land it was with a crosswind the plane was almost flying completely sideways haha .i also hit full flaps when im about 20ft off the ground on approach ,the full flap deflection is at 50 degrees and half flap at 25 degrees.

man when you slip in for landings then hit full flaps she sits down in about 10ft love this plane<br type="_moz" />
