Default RE: Flite metal - where is Ed?

Ed can you please look into my shipment as well..I ordered a riveting set back in September, as well as another order of FM back on November 30th !

The USPS shipping # indicates there is "no record" when I search for it, and based on your email it was to ship 12/29..I wouldnt normally post here for all to see however my last two emails of 1/15 and 1/24 to you have gone without a response..If there is an issue with availability thats fine I can wait, Id just like and actual date of when I can expect to receive both..

Thank you,
Pat Skahill

Hi all,

I'm delighted to inform you that my parcel arrived today!!! It took nearly a month from the USA to Australia though and I wasn't expecting that.

Thanks to Ed for your ongoing responses via email. NOW I can get on with the building side of things.

Andy

Still nothing here..

Ed im trying to be patient however not having subscribed to this thread that is directed toward you, or answer emails pretty much seems to sum up your attitude toward some of us and our business wth you.

Pat and Rich - Just to cover the bases, Ed gave his latest email info back in post 18. You're probably aware of that, but I just wanted to be sure.

I would think when a company knows theres a problem with your order they would be emailing you!

OK, I've been holding off on this, but with the continuing problems illustrated here, I have decided to post this.

Give this product a look see. http://www.tapecase.com/p.691.197/3m...foil-tape.aspx

From what I can tell, this could be a viable solution to the high cost of FM.

I haven't tried it yet, but a friend has. His opinion is that it's the same product. I'm almost sure that this will be denied.

A couple guys could go together, and buy two rolls. You'd have enough to do two, 1/5 scale Mustangs, and have material left in reserve.

I have used the 3m stuff because I can get it at work. Although I have not used FM, I think the difference is that the FM is made into self backed sheets(?). Getting it off the roll can distort the tape. A narrow roll will not set you back too bad, but a roll of 427 at 24" wide will make you get into another hobby. I have used the 2"and 4" on models and real planes.

Hi All,

I just want to point out to everyone that Ed has been MOST helpful in sorting my delivery out, once I started this thread. My perception is that he's a small time trader with an irregular stock supply (dependant on aerospace demand) and perhaps his bookwork could do with some attention, he seems genuine enough though.

One other thing, unfortunately there are some people in the world who would take advantage of this situation and if I were Ed, I'd be treading very carefully with who claims what. Put another way, validate your claim, email him, be positive about it, he's the one that's brought us Flite Metal and we all know how spectacular the product is...

I am working on a warbird that will have some kind of aluminum type of covering, and one of the prolific builders of our time, Carl Bachhuber ( http://www.carlb-rcplanes.com/ ) has used several different types of covering for his planes. He is currently using a product from Dinamic Decals (http://www.dynamicdecals.net/Dynaskin.html) called Dyna-Skin. Look into this as an alternative. Carls planes look great and he builds BIG!!!

I have had several PM's sent from some pretty unhappy folks who have had or would have had used the FM product, but due to mismanagement they have just had to move on to something else...

Hi there RC Universe folks and, Andy...hope Aussie is treating you well.

Seems like ED Clayman is still doing business in his own special way as I have just managed to get ripped off for the last 3 months for 100USD on a kit of Rosie Riveter stuff.
You never know who is where in this world at any given time though hey! Now where are those Air tickets to Top Gun 2011?

I too had trouble getting Flite Metal.

After the first order took four months I decided to try elsewhere, http://www.mickreevesmodels.co.uk do a product called Metalcoat. I find it identical to Flite Metal and much cheaper. I got my delivery the next day after order.

Mick is an three times World scale champion, he is a stand up guy and his son works with him.

You can buy a similar product from Dino at Aero Accesories. Great guy and Top Gun Champ. I believe it's a little thinner than Flite Metal.

I am lucky i guess because i am not using the flight metal product but instead was / am waiting on the Rosie Riveter kit for my "now too late to finish for jet power BVM Sabre" thanks a lot Ed!

If anyone can tell me how to do scale rivets on my 80" Sabre without using the rosie riveter system in the next week i'd be very grateful.

This guy is realy hard to get a hold of, I bought some parts for my OV-Bronco from
Buyaero back in may and I still haven't recieved any parts and I payed by PayPal.
He gave me a lot of excuses in the begining then he just stop ansering my e-mails
I guess its just to easy to rip off someone who lives in Canada oh well live & learn I guess
Buyer Beware.

Try R/c Scale Products for the rivit kit.

Seems like EDis gone MIA-I've ordered an A10 1:10 scale cockpit and canopy back in febury 2010 and he last time I heard from Ed fra May 17. 2010. after that dateI've send him 8 mails asking for a ETA on my order. The problem is also that I paid the orderand now it seems thatI never will see the cockpit and canopy and my 90$ seems wasted.
