Hi Fokker Fan,
I have been a fan of the Corby Starlet for about 10 years now, and I searched high and low for Corby that was completed in the way I would like to see, and only one I found was in NEW ZEALAND. I have become good freinds of the owner (ZK - TOY) which hes name is Don Wilkinson hes such a nice bloke I tell him must be a aussie,,,
Here is a picture of the model with both John Corby on the left and Don on the right, this picture was taken about 4 weeks ago.
All the best.

Hi TFF,
The model was my own design of plans that I did on Turbo Cad. I had the pleasure to meet John Corby who had a spare set of plans which allowed me to base the design on, I also visited the real aircraft in New Zealand which allowed me to double check both the measurments and the colour sheme. I have attached the 5 views that I have drawn which is part of my documentation for the US SCales masters.

RE: CORBY STARLET BY CHRIS WHITE
I remember reading a review a few years ago of a Starlet kit made by an Oz company. The reviewer completed the kit as ZK-TOY. Then not long after, I went to a local full size aircraft fly-in and guess what was there ... yep, ZK-TOY!
I just did a google for the kit I'd previously seen and found [link=http://www.google.co.nz/url?sa=t&source=web&ct=res&cd=7&ved=0CB0QFjAG&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.rcworld.net.au%2Fmedia%2Finde x.php%3Foption%3Dcom_rokdownloads%26view%3Dfile%26 task%3Ddownload%26id%3D450%253Abig-85-corby-brochure%26Itemid%3D4&rct=j&q=corby+starlet+kit&ei=0Hy1S7uLOIH8tQOo1KyCAw&usg=AFQjCNGxEkNz2dIYOrIXxXhEHX9TNh4oEw]this[/link], so I guess the kit is still available for those who want one.
Edit: Just having a look for the article and have come across an advert in Airborne magazine number 198 for a 28% scale ARF Starlet designed by a certain Chris White

Hi Bruce,
I am not sure if a ARF is any interst to you or not but I designed 2 sizes for the Corby Starlet which was under the brand name Sportsman Aviation which was sold by Hobby People. The 2 sizes that I designed was FS70 which was about 60" in wingspan and the other was designed for a 180FS with a wing span of 86". Apart from that there is a electric version(KIT)of the Corby in England and I think it is sold by RCB, but Iam unsure of its spec's.

Hello
Can any one tell me where I can find the 70 size yellow corby starlet kit. Hobby people are sold out since they stopped making them. I crashed mine a while back and the plane is hands down my favorite plane to fly. I wish I could find the smaller version corby kit. thanks.

RE: CORBY STARLET BY CHRIS WHITE
Hi Mr. White
I registered here simply to say how beautiful your Starlet is. Wonderful craftsmanship. I imagine it was a true pleasure to build.
I bought the plans for the CJ-1 back in 1999. My 'plan' was to build a 50% scale R/C and hopefully later to build the full scale to fly.
Various things over the years has kept me from getting either one built. Someday though, lol.
Anyway, back to your model.
I suppose you too had the drawings? You mention you built up the wings. Did you build the ribs as the original, or are they from sheet wood? I'm just curious.
Do you have any pictures from construction? I would love her without coverying.
The detail you put into the plane is lovely.
You inspire me to find the time to work on mine.
Thank you for sharing your plane with us

Hi Chris
that is one wonderful, scale, model of the Corby Starlet. Hats off to you. CONGRATS.
I designed and built 17 Super Decathlons at 30% scale, take a look at www.marcusmodelfactory.com
No longer building, only kit business.
I am about to dedicate my now rather small spare time to build new projects, and I thought of building a really large scale Spacewalker, when I stumbled across the Starlet (once again) - and that is just MY KIND of airplane.
Do you still have the CAD plans for your model? Would you mind sending me a copy? I want to build mine a little larger, at 50% scale...but having a set of plans on any e-media would be a leap forward in the planning. I downloaded your 3-views and also from another source, a complete set of drawings of the fullsize at 1/12 scale. I´d like to go as far as replicating the exact FS building techinque on this model.
I am not interested in going commercial with that one.
Please let me know.
Again, congratulations on this gorgeous model.

RE: CORBY STARLET BY CHRIS WHITE
I have just started building my 38.5% Corby Starlet ARF, and have heard of big troubles with the covering. I understand the red, blue & gold trim film can delaminate from its colored adhesive and leave quite a mess. I've seen such a thing happen just this past weekend with a no-name ARF (4Star knockoff), and the entire top leading edge film came off to the spar. So now I am contemplating what to do about it.
So far I have gone over the entire airframe, ironing down the trim very well. At a minimum I think I will also apply some clear Monokote (or Ultracote) over the seam on the leading edges of the wing, stab and fin, as well as apply clear over the trim where the "rays" of the sunburst pattern thin and come together in the center of the wing and stab leading edges, and over the "points" of thin gold and red trim on the fuse. I'll also seal the edges of the ailerons and elevators and rudder (where the trim stops).
I am debating about going further, to essentially seal all edges of the trim colors. This would mean strips of clear between the rays of the sunbursts, and clear strips to edge the trim on the fuse. A lot of work, but much easier to do before everything is assembled.
Before I go to all that trouble, could those folks who built and flew a giant Corby Starlet with glow power (ie, oily) weigh in with their experience?
Thanks so much,
- RB8
