Looking for Chart Tape

Is there a national commercial resource for 1/32, 1/16 Chart tape, I'm trying to finish up my glassed KMP OV-10 and am running low, the last place that I picked it up at no longer offers it. Thanks...Don

Low Show,

What are you using it for? I use ScotchCal for going around canopies on planes with glow engines. I get it at the auto parts store. For non-glow use I have a lot that I've saved for some 20 years. Chartpak stuff.

RE: Looking for Chart Tape

Could someone help me figure out which type of tape I would use for a 1/5 scale plane? I figure the crepe tape is good for curves, etc. and the gloss is what I would want so the primer wouldnt stick to it. But what width for a 1/5 Scale bird?

If it were me, I'd still stay with the 1/64th.

It looks as if I'm going to have enough to finish the Bronco , again thanks for the sources for future projects.

Scott do you use 1/64 most of the time and on all Scales of Airframes?

Does chart tape come up from glow fuel?

I'm sure it will, I use it after glassing, fill, and primer then lay out your panal lines, put down the chart tape, then a couple coats of primer over the tape, then remove the tape and then shoot your final color coats. I hope this helps....Don

So far, I've only used it on 1/7 scale. However, the panel lines on full size planes are very small, and I would think the fine line that 1/64" tape makes should be sufficient for scales up to 1/5th or maybe even 1/4. One area of exception might be for simulating the joints of removable panels such as engine cowls. There you might want to use 1/32" just to make them more pronounced than the rest of the panel lines. Accenting panel lines when weathering is what will really make them pop.
