Abufletcher, Thanks for helping. I was not sure about the flag either, thats why I tried the translator. I at least got a good chuckle out of it.

Winterhawke, I guess I will just have to join your group at the dawn patrols and fly under your flags!:D

But I did not want to side track a good thread, so please keep the great pictures comming. Here is my first DVII that I had a mid air with.

That looks really good Teus!
That's what I want on my pup when I get it finished! ..............."Smoke on! and Bombs away!"..............Very cool..

Cheers,
HPA

Teus 04-14-2015 09:39 AM

Thanks Paul,

Go for it, it's a very nice addition for the Pup. I used some simple HK bombs meant for 1/5th scale WW-2 birds, but they fit perfect for a 1/3rd WW-1 bird. On RCSB I have some more info and close up photos of the bombs.

HERE

Now need some fine weather to execute some more practice runs

abufletcher 04-14-2015 08:04 PM

Wow! Has she flown yet, Bob? What are using as a glow system?

BobH 04-15-2015 04:10 AM

Don,
Not flown yet. I took my time and broke the engine on a test stand. Now it runs well. I'm using the McDanials on board glow. It uses a 5000 mah. Battery.
Sorry about the picture quality.

When do you think it might take to the air? I've finally worked all the bugs out of my 770 installation (I think) but now have to repair a boo-boo that occurred when the model rolled off the workbench. Nothing major just a bit of crushed balsa on the underside of the fuselage and some torn film. The balsa has already been repaired and I'm just waiting for a roll of cream colored Oracover to arrive.

Today I finally got my SE5a back into the sky! Wahoo!

Sweet! Very smartly done color scheme. What are the specs on your DVII?

Thanks, its a BUSA 1/3 scale. I sold it to Paul aka Horsepoweraviation last summer, he had Jim Suchy finish painting the wings and they had to do the final assembly. It is one of the feature planes on the SKS video Mid-Atlantic Dawn Patrol 2014.

Bob is too humble. This aircraft is a master piece. The front has appropriate metal panels, with punched louvers and operating access doors, all in the correct place. Hand made Fokker Nuts, hinges and latches. A hand crafted Mercedes engine with the DA85 exhaust tied into the scale exhaust. and much more. This is one very fine model.

I'd like to hear/see more about how that scale functional exhaust was created.

I started by cutting the can muffler into and stacking them one on top of the other. The Mercedes exhaust is made from aluminum tubing, it has a short tube w/ flange welded to the bottom between cylinders 3 & 4 which connects to a flange on the muffler tube. Hopefully the pictures are better than words.http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/atta...mentid=2091786http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/atta...mentid=2091787http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/atta...mentid=2091788
