Navigation Lights

I am trying to make my Eflite RV-9 a bit more scale and i would like to put functional nav, landing and strobe lights. None of the light kits have what i am looking for. It is an electric plane of coarse and i would like to have aux power but still be able to turn them off and on with the transmitter. Anyone know of a light kit or has made a light kit that would work for what i need?

RE: Navigation Lights

I built my own set. The only thing I don't have are the strobes. I used some Christmas light replacement LED's from Wal-Mart for the wing tip lights and for some white light under the wing to show the fuse. I got a 10mm bright white LED and a blinking red LED from Radio Shack as well as some resistors and wired in an external switch. As far as powering them I just tapped into an extra channel on the receiver. I'm on my Mac right now and don't have any pics of it but if you go into the photo gallery under the RC Community tab at the top of the page and go to around page 4 or so there is a Hobbico Flyzone Cessna in the dark with the lights on. The plane is very visible considering there are so few lights. There is an online video on how-to build an LED driver out of an old servo. I'll do that for my Great Planes Lancair ES ep. I also hacked up a cat5 cable for the wire. It's very lightweight. I don't know if any of this helps but I wanted to give night flying a shot and now I'm hooked. I also have less than $15.00 in the setup. Also the purpose of the LED driver is so you can activate them from the transmitter. Also I used an online LED calculator. There are several and they all seem about the same. Here is the website for the LED driver: http://www.zerorc.com/how-build-servo-led-driver

Years ago (10 or more) there was a guy out in CA that was making a functional RC lighting system, I have one.
It is control by the Tx, it has three positions, Off/On/On+Landing light. A bunch of us were doing night flying back then

Nice little system, I thought he called if the "Flight Light" too,, maybe long gone

Here are a few pictures of mine. Sorry for the quality of the pictures. As soon as I get my Lancair done I'll post pictures of it also. I'll probably cut the wing tips out for the wing lights and install clear covers over them so they look as scale as possible.

You might also try these guys because the lights are small, light and bright and they come with installed plugs for your receiver which you can then switch on and off. You can also buy this starter kit that includes a controller. I recently purchased 2 landing lights for my jet and they came with 2 foot leads to plug into my receiver and they cost $11 including shipping. The company is Dimension Engineering.

Does Anyone know of a RC Lighting company that would specialize in the larger scale Jets. IE: JL, SM, etc? http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/js/f...y/msn/idea.gif
Besides Dreamworks or Ram?
