Good day to all. I would like to start building my own scale boat but do not know where to start. Whether it's a kit with a fiberglass hull and you have to build the deck and super structure, or the you have to build everything like some of the Dumas kits.
1). What type of tools are needs like clamps etc. etc?
2). What type of glues and adhesives?
3). Where can I buy these items from?
I would probably start with a kit that has a fiberglass, plans, and pre-cut wood.
I am into Large Ocean Going Tug boat, Fast Offshore Crew and Passenger Ferry Boats boat like the Dumas American Enterprise. Hopefully I can work my way up to and American Enterprise as that have always be my dream boat.
Any he is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Ken.

If you are a reasonable woodworker, you will already have the tools, but since you are asking, I must assume otherwise. For a first, look for something relatively unambitious. If it is a plastic kit, you get the chance for a result without too much hassle because the hard bits are pre-done. You get to learn how a boat goes together and what is needed to make it work. Then go for something bigger.
Or search for "Springer" tugs. Simple, very basic tools, tough when built.
