Absolutly!!!! Alexander Engel makes some of the best and most complete kits around. I am currently building their WW2 Gato Class Fleet boat. They come with fiberglass hull, resin fittings, diving system, resin & microballons, motors, gearboxes, linkages etc. The prices for their WW2 subs run around $1600.00 but they include just about everything you need, except speed controllers, electronics, batteries & servos. I purchased the one I am building from Subconcepts in Roswell NM. They are extremly knowlegeble and easy to deal with. They also will ship any kit for $5.00 in the US. HTTP://www.subconcepts.com They even have a payment layaway so you can pay it off in installments if you choose. Good luck to you!

Robbe definatly has a good looking sub. The only problem with it is that it is a dynamic boat, which simply stated is that it always has positive bouancy and must be moving forward to create downforce on the dive planes to make it dive. It will not submerge statically (sitting still) I have seen them converted over to dive statically but it does create a lot of extra work and headaches. Someone that is looking to get into subs probably should steer away from this type of endeavour. If you add up the total costs of buying the sub and then purchasing the parts to convert it you probably will spend as much as if you just bought a static boat to begin with. On the other hand, Dumas makes a smaller sub that is also dynamically dived (dove???) and it is consideably cheaper. I do know this boat also has an inherit problem of the watertight compartment leaking. You have to be very dilligent when assembling the WTC. Unfortuatly, I do not believe there is such a thing as a beginners or trainer submarine, save for the little tub or aquarium toys you see on Ebay. They all require careful attention and good assembly skills to make operate.

Best of luck to you!!
