It looks like a generic motor launch. One or two electric motors would be more than enough to run it RC.

It is very similar to the [link=http://www.dumasproducts.com/cgi-bin/dumas.storefront]"Dumas Dauntless", [/link] but your hull looks scratch built.

This is definitely a Sterling Model Kit from the 1950's. The kit name is/was ChrisCraft Motor Yacht. I know because I am presently rebuilding one I have carried around since then........

Yes, this Sterling model of Chris Craft Motor Yacht does have a rear deck that comes off. It comes off after the front, cabin section comes off. When both pieces are off the entire hull is open for access and installation of equipment.

I tried adding photos of the one I''m rebuilding, but without success. Sometimes I just don't think this site is as user friendly as it should be.

If you look back, I believe into November 2005 postsl, you'll find some photos I WAS able to post in regards to my restoration of this model, which I originally built some 50 years ago!!!!

I checked the date on the post I made with photos. It's dated about 11/11/05 and is titled "Sterling Model Boat from the 1950's" If you check it out, you'll see your model is the same. I added the flying bridge. It was not a part of the original kit.

Hey Michael I got one of those.Sterling chris craft 63' my.I hear they are valuable and rare [at least in kit form]. I have graupner gear boxes 3to 1 with kyosho 540 type motors and graupner 3 blade counter rotating props for mine.I will run high capacity car type battery packs .[8D]

Here's a photo of the one I just restored. I've been carrrying it around for more than 50 years and it got in "worser" and "worser" condition. I added a flying bridge which was not unusual with this type of boat in those days. I wonder if there are any "real 63 footers" still around? My son-in-law encouraged me to re-do it. Here tis--whatta think

WowLooks very nice ,maybe it will help serve as a kick in the transom that I need to finish mine.I've looked all over the net for pics of the real mccoys and some are still around, not so many 63'ers but more catalinas and connies and slightly smaller stuff from that era. Nice model ![8D]
