Tug, if I understand you correctly the area you will out the holes is quite a bit aft. I don't have my drawings but I would make sure that the area you put the shot will go in the space between the frames where the large elipical hole would be. To far back aft on your weight might be to much in that area which could put your stern down quite a bit. Experiment with your weight load on deck before drlling and gluing.
If you wanted to spread out the weight a bit try putting the shot in a couple of small zip lock bags and lay them on the deck. This might give you a better weight distribution to experiment with.
It is a great little boat to drive and I have even put a small wireless camera in mine to get the view from the cockpit. I also put on a brass prop and it cuts through the weeds much better than the plastic.

Yes the area I am referring to is under the transom hatch almost next to the transom frame. But not further forward than the next frame from the transom. The holes would be very close to the location of the rudder post.
