Hi - Does anyone know of any kits - hulls - plans - for a U.S. Patrol Craft Escort? The "Ely" PCE 880 was stationed in my hometown during the 50's as a Naval reserve ship and I thought it would be neat to make a model of it. Any ideas?

I just realized the Dumas Whitehall is a PCE - has anyone built one of these or know anything about this kit? It's a little smaller scale than I was thinking about, but at least it's the right boat!

I just got the drawings from The Floating Drydock, the ones drawn by Thomas Walkowiak. They are really nice, and a good modeler could make a great model from them. I hope I'm up to the task - a fiberglass hull and a kit of the "stuff" on the deck would be much easier!

If you can assemble a model kit, you have the have the skills to scratch build.
Copy the frame plans 10 or 20 times, cut a paper pattern for each frame, and paste them on your plywood, and you are on your way.[8D]

The dumas kit is a piece of cake. I finished my PCE in a month, they are small and lack any real fittings in the kit, but it was a nice break form my Spruance. I ordered all the fittings from John Haynes and they are top notch, and I didnt wait for months for them.
