About 35 years ago I can remember seeing a boat in the local hobby shop, and I would like to find out if anyone can help me identify this boat. This is all the information I know.
It was about 40" long. It was a model of an old Yatch. It may have been a Dumas. Its real life size was about 50 to 70 feet. It was not the 36' chris craft express, the real boat was much bigger, if made by Dumas at one time, they dont make it anymore. Thanks, Randy.

Dumas was not much into the Yacht kits 35 years ago, they made a few scale models though.
More likely it was a Sterling model, the Corvette and the Motor Yacht come to mind. They show up on the 'bay
from time to time, but be prepared to shell out $$$ The MotorYacht was about 40", the Corvette was 48".
The prototype Motor Yacht was 63' long, the Corvette was 40'.
Dumas entry into the ChrisCraft genre seems to be largely a response to the demise of the Sterling line.
Sterling (Estes) is pretty silly not to reissue those kits. I know I'd buy the few I missed out on.

I don't thing the kit was 48" and I think the model was of a larger yatch, so that leaves me with the probably 63' motor yatch, thanks Don.

I just rebuilt this Sterling Models 60' ChrisCraft Motor Yacht that was from the 1950's era. I agree with the modeler who said whoever owns the rights or designs of this kit should re-issue them. This model and the other ChrisCrafts in the Sterling series would be GOOD sellers I'm sure. They weren't even too hard to build!!! Well designed!!
I'll try to drop in the photo I've dropped in previously, that many of you have probably seen.
