Default memory, nicd or nimh

Could anyone tell me if the nicd or nimh batteries have memories, thanks, Randy.

NiCd will develop memories, and won't accept a full charge if you recharge partially used batteries often enough (and I don't know what defines "enough"). If you drain your batteries to 0.9v/cell before recharging, they won't develop a memory. An Orbit Microlader PRO V6.52 charger on the "reflex" setting will recharge partially drained NiCd's w/o giving them a memory. Radical RC sells them, but they are spendy. The less expensive Orbit Pocket Lader (charger) does not have the reflex setting, unfortunately. The Pocket Lader (along with other brands) does have a discharge+recharge setting that would prevent batteries from developing a memory, at the cost of a longer charger cycle (due to the discharge part).

NiMH don't develop memories, as far as I know. NiMH have a limited number of recharges, though, around 300. So, I don't recharge them willy nilly, but try to get full usage out of them before recharge.
