I work with a person that worked on a boat called the Fire Island Queen, built by Fire island ferries inc. He would like to built a scratch built boat, does anyone know whear he can get the plans, thanks, Randy.

I looked into it and it seems that the vessel you are looking for is owned and operated by Fire Island Ferries, but not built by them. On their site, they have a "Contact US" number. Call them up and find a knowledgeable person that could tell you the builder/designer of the particular craft. It would likely be someone in charge. Once you obtain that info, contact the Builder and or Designer and let them know that you are a modeller and are interested in building a scale model of the ferry. Let them know that you are interested in what they have, plans photos, ETC but DO NOT need technical info on powerplants, wiring diagrams etc. (They tend to want to charge you for that) Hopefully, they will send you what you need free of charge.

There is also a book called "Ferries to Fire Island 1856 to 2003" By: Captain Edwin J. Mooney. That looks like a good source to find out some info on the Fire Island Queen.
