Guys,
Look like Midwests PT boat has arisen from the grave...just in time for Christmas. Seems Proboat is manufacturing it and Horizon Hobbies is going to carry it. http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products...ProdID=PRB3600

Slight correction: Proboat/Horizon BUYS it, from same factory in China as Midwest did.
IMEX will also be importing and distributing it, along with many others from that factory... news from a couple weeks ago (see post #7): http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=759588
I'm so tired of that little PT109 I didn't even bother taking a good picture of it...

Pat,
I stand (or sit) corrected. I have mixed thoughts on the PT boat myself. I have a great fondness for PTs (I own several different scratch built, kitbashed & RTR ones) Yes, I owned one when they were sold by Midwest. No, I did not seem to have any of the leaking problems that plagued them but I typically rework boats as I get them. I am a stickler for details and reworked the PT boat into something that I felt was very presentable. We will see how these newer models compare to the Midwest ones.
By the way Pat, I read your review of the Yamato... the only word I can think of is AWESOME!

Well how about that? Must be the second time I've been wrong this decade!
Yup, the IMEX boat is advertised to be 810mm ~32", compared to the Proboat/Midwest 40 incher.
I wonder then if the IMEX 44' lifeboat is also different from the old Midwest RTR 44?
