Atmosphere: fun, kid friendly, professional serious minded model builders

Marine Modelers of New England is a low-key club based in the greater Boston area. The thirty year old organization meets monthly, usually pond-side to sail their model boats, when the weather allows it. Their meetings are informal, with little time spent on business, and lots of time displaying models, talking about RC boats, and listening to guest speakers. There is usually an interesting array of models at our gatherings displayed by members and guests.

Accessible to persons with disabilities

You know, for the last two years we have asked what clubs were in Maine, and the New England area. And if any participate in the Lobster boat races held at the local museum.

You are the first person to post any information at all for Model boat clubs in Maine..

Thank you for that. I am sure that there are board members here that will be happy to know they are not alone up there...

I read an article about R/C model lobster boat races at Beals Island, ME. I was molding 42 inch glass hulls of classic Jonesport Lobster boat. There are several R/C lobster boat models (40 inch +) in the MMcNE. Modelers from ME, NH, Albany NY, CT, RI and MA shown up at meetings and on the water shows. I'd dust off my LB model and see if it still runs if there were a good reason to go to Beals Islnad
