Default Saito Star open launch

I just picked it up about 3 weeks ago. The engine is a T-2DR, and the boiler is a B2E.
I have not run the boat yet, I'm still looking for more information. I have never run a steam engine.
The boat has 3 channels.
Rudder
Throttle & Whistle
Forward & Reverse

Yesterday I started making a new canopy, would you believe I spent 4 hours building the frame. The frame is made out of 3/32” brass tubing with 1/16” brass rod for bracing. The legs are 3/16” brass tubing.
I found the red & white stripped cloth at Hancock Fabrics.
Do you think it looks better than the wood one?

Nice boat. I liked the wooden one too. Can't say about the new one until I see it mounted on the boat.

Don..............Excellent craftsmanship on your metal fabrication. It will look real nice once finished and polished. When I do any brass work once polished and cleaned I shoot a coat of clear lacquer over it to prevent it from tarnishing.
