I got the last piece of the puzzle today for the hull. Acrylic "hanging balls" or "christmas balls they come in halves and make great front windows. I am trying to upload image but can't get it to a jpeg. The balls are clear and come in 2 inch 4 inch sizes leave them clear makes a neat looking sub.

Here is what the ball looks like and they come in halves you can dremel them to fit in porthole frames and such paint them like a nautilus porthole . Paint them from the inside out like RC car bodies

That ball idea sounds real great i think i'll try it. Hopefully it will fit since my sub is 3, and a quater inch wide. And they only have 2 inch and 4 inch size ones. JOE

You can also get on the horn and call around to party stores and craft stores all around your town,,hobby Lobby (the craft store) if there are any around you, may have them as well. when you locate a place that has them ask them to set aside a set or two and have one of your family members who drive take you when you can. But you can do some foot work on the phone. I remember those days yes 11,12 wanted something so darn bad but couldn;t get it cause of the driver's liscense problem. give all I own as a down payment to go back to those days!!

yeah i know how you feel. Im 14 and when i was 12-13 i was workin on making my traxxas stampede 4x4. It takes alot of parts and i couldnt drive and 30 min. drive to the hobby store to get them and needless to say my parents werent just jumping at the chance to take me. To make it worse the hobby store didnt always have what i wanted so multiple trips were needed. I quickly learned that if you call ahead most stores will put aside the part you need so when you get there it will still be there and they will most always go look to see if they have it. I know theres only so much you can do when it comes to things like this but every little bit helps. And since you probably wont be doing anything while you waiting to go get that part go look to see if you can find something that will work the same way that part will. Or see if there is something else you can do on the project since you have all that time.
