Well, depends on what you are looking for. I think, for "Micro" subs, they all look and have almost the same method of diving:
-Wasaki Mini sub
-Hi-tec Sea Explorer
-Nikko Sea Tiger
-Radio Shack's Mako Sub
These subs mentionned above all have the same system: Two motor pods on either side of the hull, facing downwards at an angle to achieve diving. They are positively buoyant so when not moving, they rise to surface. To turn, one motor stops and the other works. I personnally like the WASAKI sub (very small and cute!
) because it has a "Super Dive Button" which allows it to dive at a higher speed than usual. Also the battery can also affect the buoyancy, some batteries are lighter than others so you may encounter some problems while trying to dive.
-Motorworks USS DALLAS / USS CHICAGO
-Nikko Seawolf
These subs have a different diving method, the USS Dallas uses thrusters for all movement, the rudder and dive planes can't move (I believe)
The Seawolf on the other hand uses a propeller located on the under side of the hull to make it dive. As for turning, I'm not sure about it.
They all come in different sizes, I got my Wasaki Sub for 19.00$ at my Radio Shack, very cool!
Hope this helps

The seawolf turns by moving the propeller to the sides. The advantage of the seawolf in front of dallas/chicago, is that the seawolf is prportional because it have an speed controller and servos(but they are integrated so they aren't good), have more maneobrability(poor english spanishhhhhhhh),and its bigger. However it don't goes very deep but have more surface range

ive seen the orange one before. You'll see alot of the yellow kind. A bunch of companies make them. Their knock offs of the megatech one. What sucks about them is the pitch of the motor is manual. In other words you just angle them the way you want them then put the sub in the water. While its in the water the only way to chance the pitch is to stick you hand in there and adjust it yourself. I wish it was controlled from the controller but the cost would skyrocket and it would be very complicated. Plus it would have to be bigger and that would defeat the purpose. I dont know how much that one in the picture is but you can get ones just like that from toyeast for like 8 bucks. dont know how good they work though.

Yes, the second one is the Wasaki sub, well, I've tried it and got very fine results, I don't really care about the pitch angles, and that. If it can dive, I'm on it! Also, be sure to dap some glue on the O-rings, sometimes, they fall out and can weaken the waterproof effect. I've seen the yellow one too except, it's made by Graupner, the wings are blue and yellow and the name is the "Mini Shark"
All these subs mentionned above are cool but they are "toys", not really to scale. The only one that looks like an actual sub will probably be the Motorworks sub.

OK here is the scoop about what is what...a "Who is Who" of RC Subs
Blue sub-- Nikko Daring A.K.A. Tigershark
Red/Silver--RS Mako Shark
Black sub=Wallysub converted to Seawolf
Black-Red sub-Wallysub Dallas
all fun to use but the Blue sub has a small range but excellant diving properties!
the RS sub can dive turn and suraface quickly but be warned, grease the crap out of the seals and the front LED, they are leakers!
the Wally subs are in my opinion the best bang for your buck, not only can they dive deep, but you can modify them to the point
the US Navy wants them! :-)
I hope this helps.
