what is the best starter radio kit i should get. Originally i was going to make a basic thethered sub, consisting of 4 cheap hobby motors in a series circuit, connecting with the butons and probably tha batteries on land. But now that i think about it im thinking that if im gunna invest in the motors the approximatly 200 feet of wire, buttons and batteries, it will probably be cheaper then the radio kit but the radio kit would be an invest ment in the long run. so basically what i am asking is what is the easiest beginner starter kit that i could use to make a basic basic sub. thank you for your time and help.

i was thinking more of the actual radio system, from like a hobby shop. I was looking on the website of my local hobby shop and it has a little information about begginer radio systems. The link is this
http://www.greathobbies.com/frame_index.html
so i was looking at a surface radio system, i was just looking for a suggestion on which like brand to buy. I'm looking for a pretty cheap one becuase im a very very begginer just to get started on. SO any suggestions to which brand or what ever i should invest in whould much be appriciated.

What type of sub are you building? Dynamic diver? Static? Dynamic divers usually require a mximum of 3 channels to operate whereas static divers tend to use a 4 channel radio.
Check Tower Hobbies, they've got a large selection as I know of it.

Hey newb,
Check out your other thread on 'servos'. I would seriously consider the wire remote, as radio equipment (legal radio equipment) will only give you a depth of about 6 feet. surface running will be standard, but underwater, much closer. Of course, unless you are runnning in your pool, you would need a camera in the sub, so you could see what is going on. Perhaps radio is the way to go - no tangling of the wire underwater. each setup has its limits.
