im looking for an rtr sub, ive noticed some pretty cheap priced ones but are made for tubs and stuff, im looking for something that can be used in a pond. I saw the [link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXMN47&P=ML]Nikko Sea Wolf Submarine RTR[/link] on towerhobbies for $180 but i cant seem to find much info on it(reviews, pics, ect). Does anyone know anything about this model? Also, what are some good entry level kits and do they require servos and everything like car kits?

Check out the Walley sub thread on this web site. The modified version will do a large number of things for entry level. Check out the photos of them and the information about how to modify them.
The Nikko sub is...okay. but for the price, you modify a number of walley subs and they will go deeper and farther. There may be some information about modifying it, but I've not seen it.
Beyond them, there are NO ready to run subs that you can go to a website and purchase and it be shipped right there other than "toys". There ARE some builders that will do that for you, but...they are expensive at best...in the thousands.
For an example, check at the Akula entry level sub build thread on the forum that rhymes with rcsoups... review
http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showt...hp?t=319743hat, and you can determine if that is for you.

You don't have to invest thousands to get into a decent sub. I'm converting a Revell Type VIIc for under $400 with the WTC & parts fabricated outside.
ArkModel offers a very good entry sub, their DragonShark, that you can buy either as a kit or RTR. The kit is easy to build & all you need to do is add an esc & radio gear.

Please don't let me discourage you on building, if thats for you. Too many buy the sub kits and find out its above their means. Thats why I wanted you to look at the Akula thread...
If you want a 36 inch ready to run sub, I can recommend some builders to you that could help. Pm me.
