Sub dilema

hi guys
just got my Hobbico sea scout today and i must say once i balanced it all up it performed rather well, i ran it about 3 times in the sink then tried it in the bath...
it worked well for about 20 seconds then it started blipping asif the batteries were low, so i recharged it and this time it lasted about a second and started blipping, so i took it out and put it on the windowsil to dry out.
then the left motor goes WOT for about 10 seconds, and with no off switch i couldnt do anything about it, in the end i managed to stop it by hitting it on the side of the bath. it all goes quiet for about a minute then it keeps blipping again (this time its usually just one quick blip) it does this about 3 times over the span of a minute, so i unscrew the front section and spread its guts out over my desk so they can dry out, but i only got it today so what do you think happened?
i think...:
A: water leaked into the front section and shorted out the board, but i can still control the sub and i didnt find any water when i opened the compartment.
B: the heat from the water in the bath caused the board to malfunction

odd thing is, once i left it overnight with its guts out in the airing cupboard it works fine, thrusters and motors are fully operational and its still got the same range as it had before...
