heres my second build of the u2540 some of the photos show some mods i have made 1) is a brass plate with th antenna wire under the sail the periscope screws into this rather than have the whip anteena at the rear of the sub, 2) is a waterproof mylar speaker under the sail for the diesel sound generator ( thanks to another post on rcu) and finally the detailing of the weld lines going very well.

Looking good! Are you using the stock diving system or upgrading to make it a static diver?

Could you go into more detail about how you installed the waterproof speaker, etc please? Tried to search for the link here but couldn't find it. Sub is looking great! Much cleaner then mine is. But I am about 1 month (and some descent painting weather) away from finishing. Just have to wait until Spring to get her out of dry dock!

the sub uses a tube the radio tray slides inand a bolt in the front then tightens the rear cap with an oring on it against the tube making it water tight, the tube is also presurised so that if any air does escape water wont get in....
