4th ANNUAL TEXAS ARMOR EPIC TANK BATTLE AFTER ACTION REPORT
Well, the 4th Annual Texas Armor epic tank battle is over, the weather was perfect, and great tank action was had by all with aircraft flying over head all day. In fact, at one point during the day ( I dont know if the combatents noticed, ) but a dog fight raged overhead between Ju-87's, Me-109's, Fw-190's, P-51's P-47's and Spitfires while the tanks dueled it out on the ground! Only here is where you can see this!
Saturday, 9 club members were in attendance with out special guests commander Bob from NEAD and Steve Sharke from Fla. I did the play by play announcement for the crowd watching the events. we performed over 15 battles with 20 minute breaks in between so as to allow any repairs to tanks, change batteries, and to allow other spectators to mingle over from the flying field. The Big Bomber fly in attracts over 2000 spectators each year!
I want to thank Commander Bob for helping me install a new radio in the hetzer prototype, of course, I was trying to do it while being up for 26 hours! Talk about being brain fried!!!
Anyway, here are some pics of the days events, the first two show the inside of our club house and the last is of Mike Lunans daughter Sara who saved my bacon by manning the raffle ticket table so I woould not have to between battles since I had to announce.

One of our newest additions to our roster of tanks is Donny Colombe's BEAUTIFUL M-36 Jackson! From what I understand is that it incorporates the mattoro (?) chassis, Tamiya hull and Nick's turret, it was a joy yo see it out on the feild and you should have seen it cross that new span bridge!

Also coming by was "Gen. Patton" to see how the Allies are doing against the German!, Since I was dressed as an American tanker to show to the crowds what one wouold look like back in WW2, the general posed next to me. ( I got a $20 fine for no tie[:'(]), and the General giving last minute instructions to Bob the commander before the big push

Saturday Night we went to a very fine Tex-Mex resteruant near by where I handed out the days awards., The most dead tank award went to Gene (sorry man, I forgot your last name), the most feared tank went to Ted Smith for his JagdTiger, (every allied tanker kept ganging up on him to take him out), TC's choice award went to commanderBob from NJ for his KV-I, the best sportsmanship award went to Conner Salinas (one of our Jr members) (that story and pics will follow), the best Axis tank award went to Steve Sharke from Fla. and the best Allied tank award went to Donny Colombe. ( Man,...I knew I was going bald but DANG!!!!!!!!)

Thanks to all for the compliments on My M36B1. I still need to add a few more interior details in addition to the external stowage and then she's done! Here are a few pics of My Firefly on the new bridge in a scene from "A Bridge to far"

Tomas, I am still recovering from the weekend, battle fatigue. HOWEVER... I think I got what you want. ( Sara took about 200 shots this weekend.)

I can't seem to get more than three pics up a time, I apologise, but what would you expect from a Tanker.

I failed to credit the Tankers with my last post. The King Tiger is the work of Gene Wilson of Artistic Hobbies. The Panzer belongs to Ted, and the M4a1 Sherman is mine, Hull and turret kit from Fire Nick. The bridge is the work of Han's and William, Our very own father son team of caped crusaders. Here are some more pictures, I beleive the KV1 is Allen's HL conversion.

Moonshadow I didn't forget your goods, I know Andrew spent most of the time behind the wheel, but he would have made you proud the way he lit my Ronson Sunday.

The Allies brought the big guns. Hans, William the Conquerer, and Conner brought the Pershings. Rumor has it that Williams Tank had a bounty on it. The axis wanted that tank gone but Conner and Hans were having none of it.
