i'm in th middle of converting a Mato tank into an M4A3E2 Jumbo. The mod is quite esay. it's making all the track Duck bills. i must have been out of my mind. It will look good once irt is completed but the work correcting these tanks will take as much time to build a whole tank from a kit. But i'm dead set on finishing it.

Quite an undertaking[X(]....what are you using and how will they attach, without breaking off over every rock.[sm=confused.gif]
Great photo, Hero....thought it was a 1;1 scale.

I found .25 inch styrene "C" channell. It is actually working quite well .I am CA glueing them to the track end connectors, then i intend to add just a drop of epoxy in the web. So far so good. i did try soldering brass channel but the pot metal doesn't like to solder very well. These had a tendency to break off quite frequently so a few missing here or there wont matter much.

What would the best thing to do is get someone to cast us the track end connectors with the Duck bills already on them. If Tamiya wanted to make a nice track to sell this would be the one.

Regarding your photos - looks like you have plenty of light, and the backgrounds are in focus. Just might be too close. Try moving back a foot or so. You could zoom in a bit, or crop the photo after the fact. Finally, prop the camera on something to keep it as steady as possible.
Would love to get a clear look at all that work you put into the tracks.

Yes use the crop feature. Almost all of my pictures are cropped from an image 4X as large as what you see. It allows you to back away, get everything in focus and diffuse some flash.
Man those duck bills look like a lot of work. Kudo's to you for giving that a try!!!!!!!!!!

My Feedback: (1)
I have started and stopped on this project many times. Inow have the VVSS, but still have 2 aborted attemps at a turret. Iam curruntly using a matto turret and am trying to sculpt the correct shape. If you have any secrets, let me know. Iplan to make mine a 75mm, you?

What is that old saying? "You are either the bravest man or the biggest fool". No matter which, just have fun. I like it it and you are a better man then I.

Groousers, are you kidding. They had those that went all the way up to 39 inches wide. Yes thats right 39 inches. <div> Actually the epxoy is working very well. I do plan on reinforcing everything after there all on i'll let you know how that turns out. The Turret just needs a few mods. Drop the shell casing door and square the top edge of the turret off slightly. </div>
