Default SU-76i

My latest project.

Not based on any particular tank, just taken ideas off lots of different ones. Anyway they only converted a few hundred of these and (judging by the photos) there didn't seem to be a standerdised way of building them.

I got rid of the track guards because none of the pictures I saw had all the tools that come molded onto the PZIII and I did spot a pic where they'd been replaced by plain steel track guards.

They are a nice vehicle. I built one based on photos of the two exhibits at the Victory Museum in Moscow. There were variations, some using the Pz III cupola, some with flat plates, retrofitted from captured Pz IIIs as they came in. I got a kit from Modelbau and it went together very nicely. It's a sweet little tank killer.

And under the rules our club uses, you can configure it as a light tank [8D] (and boy does our XO gripe about the 3 second reload time !)

@Ex_Pat_Tanker - Nice

I picked up a faulty non S&S PzIII for a few £ when they first came out and I cut it up to build a STuG, but then HL released their own STuG so I started making plans for this. It's been sitting on a shelf as I got side tracked with other things.
