Default Sherman M4a1

Hi all,
Just thought I'd show my latest project. She's nowhere near accurate but I like the way she looks

Field dirt looks good...is that a lend-lease muzzle brake?

LOL the muzzle break has been "lent" by a Jagdpanther, (it's the only one I could find in my spares box) I may change it a later date.

I thought that tank was one of mine. I had to do a double take.

See the resembelance

I got a drawer full of pinup girl decals. My Wife and Daughters consider a few of them in poor taste, and that they should not appear on any of my tanks.

Nice subtle weathering. Very impressive. Almost makes me want a Sherman.

I think there's a couple of ways of doing pin-ups. As YHR says, I've painted mine, make your own, (beyond my computer abilities[X(]) or may-be you could get hold of some aircraft decals, I think 1/48th scale ones would be about right.

Google "1/48 Pyn Up decals", there's a ton of options you could choose from. Although I recommend picking decals from a bomber, because pin up decals from a 1/48 fighter is way too small.

Those Fly boys had time to paint some pretty unique nose art.

I have always been fascinated with nose art. On my model railroad I incorporated nose art on the diesel locomotives. I thought it made a probable crossover. Returning vets going to work for the railroad was the story for my creative licence.

Sorry Frank for Hijacking the thread. This nose art stuff is cool, and I seem to be going off on a tangent here.

No problem, I think Nose art is cool too.
I think we may have started a fashion here! I'm in the habit of "naming" all my tanks but now I'm toying with doing a pin-up on all my allied armour
Frank.
Love the locos by the way, I'm all for putting a personal touch to models even if it's not strictly accurate.

I had some pretty racy stuff on one of the Fireflies I did, but with daughters in the house I decided I better take them off.

You did a great job on painting that. It takes a pretty steady hand.

I may have to re-name my recovery pershing before I paint a pin-up on her, or it might get too x-rated! LOL

Cheers Tony
Where do I get one of those?
She's a build I did which is loosely based on a T12 prototype. Basically a pershing hull with a scratch built turret/jib

Here's one for you Tony,
A mate has built a transporter for his leopard, but I had to see what mine looked like on it

Nice transporter. I'm toying with the idea of scratchbuilding one myself.

Oh my,very neat! That is something I have yet to dive into. Once I get my tanks completed, no collection would be complete withouttransportationvehicles and this is one to model after! Looks like the Leo would be a perfect fit, where your Super Pershing sits.
