For me it's the T-55 too. That, plus the Tamiya Super Sherman. Wish I could have both this Holiday season, but I gotta be more realistic in my expectations.

A tank that requires less maintenance than my Tamiya Tiger does.. That would be nice.
There has been a problem occur each and every time for the past 7 battle events I have attended with it.
2010 recap:
January:
Tiger wouldn't track straight, had to adjust the radio trim tab on the steering channel to get it to mostly move forward without prominent veering to the side. Gun barrel would barely elevate, almost no elevation. Recalibration of the DMD and careful adjustment of the steering trim pot mostly fixed this issue.
February:
Hold down screw on one of the Schumo gear downs stripped out, had to battle with only one screw holding the unit to the gearbox. Luckily it stayed in place so no stripped gears.
March:
Complete breakdown of the recoil unit, rendering the recoil unusable and requiring a major overhaul after the battle to fix it. The breech also broke and had to be replaced. Much improved elevation upward travel (that the gun had always lacked prior) after the overhaul.
April:
Stripped 2 teeth off the final plastic gear in the driver's side Type 1 gearbox after collision with the teeth of the "Dragon Tooth Bridge". I've noticed that bridge has been absent from the field ever since, maybe that is why. C4ISTAR comes to the rescue with a replacement gear the following month.
May:
Rocks seize up and throw both tracks during the final battle of the day. Almost made it through that one without an incident lol.
October:
Set screw backed out on hull gunner's side gearbox output shaft, causing the sprocket wheel to wobble on the shaft. After battle, had to completely remove both gearboxes from the chassis and retighten the loose set screw (can't access those screws with the TUs installed in the tank). Also found another loose screw on the driver's side gearbox frame. Vibration probably loosened these screws. A rear mud guard was broken off by a hit and run KV driver who will remain nameless lol.
November:
Rocks galor in the tracks during this battle. Had to remove both sets of tracks twice during the day and reinstall them. This delayed the start of a few subsequent battles while screwing around with the tracks. Noticed after the battle day, in photos taken at the event, that my driver side track was misaligned with the sprocket wheel for at least most of one battle, perhaps longer. Have no idea how long I drove it that way before I had to drop the tracks due to rocks..
During the post battle inspection, I found, yet again, the recoil unit was all bent out of alignment, but at least this time the breech screw and nut were still secure and nothing was broken. I'm not sure how it got all bent down and backwards this time, somewhat mysterious.. Time for another recoil unit overhaul and realignment.
After reveiwing all that, I think my Tiger is kinda high maintenance.. The recoil on Streetsquid's Tiger was all bent out of alignment and jacked up too. I saw it being worked on at the battle. That Tamiya recoil unit design has LOTS of room for improvement, especially on the Tiger. Maybe all the maintenance is part of Tamiya's plan in replicating that of the real Tigers.. I must say, I like how the 1/16 all metal Tiger is coming along (the one out of China). It looks promising, yet expensive though too.

Are you refering to the Aero one? I went to the website, but never did find a price. How much does that tank go for?????. If MAto keep going they way they are I believe we may see an all metal Tiger from them as well. Their website started with a few metal parts, and now the hull is out, so I have to think the upper section is on it's way.
I think all hard charging tanks require maintenace. The HL Panther is pretty tuff though Just kidding everybody, calm down, deep breathes, ...............there you go.

I think someone put the whammy on your Tiger RSEA!
Forget wanting Santa to make good on your wish, I'd take a Witchdoctor, a Priest, a Monk and a party of Hare Krishna's to take the hoodoo out of it! lol

Metal tracks for my Panther. I've already bought everything else I wanted, including two more Tamiya King Tigers off eBay (one is a Porsche turret) and a HL Jagdpanther and metal tracks from MatoMart's clearance sale.
I think I need another shelf for my tanks....... ;o(
