Danville Battle Video and Pictures
Finally got around to editing my Danville Video it's now up on YouTube probably be posted in six parts trying to keep it under ten minutes per clip, also here are some stills of the same battles they may get out of ordered but I left them numbered so they are easier to sort. More videos to follow as I get time to post them.

Still more pictures from Danville, let me know when to stop, I have about 133 of them from Saturday alone. Some are obviously from the work benches and not the battles.

Thanks Steve. Now I feel like a kid again on Christmas morning waiting for the more pictures. I love the stills with the "muzzle" flashes. This was the best weekend I've had in a long time. I'm really looking forward to seeing everyone again for the 2011 season.

Steve, thanks for the pics. Outstanding photo quality. Especially considering the low light and movement. If you look closely in some photos, it's cool that the tank is in sharp focus yet the tracks have motion blur. Very realistic effect.
Hope you can return for the March or April events.

I once flew to the tank battles in Texas, which was a blast. But if I do it again, I hope to charter a tour bus with 3 or 4 other tankers to split the cost. It would be a memorable "tanker roadtrip"!

Quaker City is near I 77 so just take that south to I 64. If you go all the way to I 81 you could meet me there for the last few hours down. If you were to fly you would go into Greensboro, NC. The AAF Tank Mus. in about 50 miles north on Rt 29. I have done both and it is a matter of time vs. money in the begining. I now bring down so much stuff I can't fly. My two daughters come very often so driving is most practical. Gas is very cheap in VA and the hotels are $45 to 80 per night. If you fly you can bring you tank in your carry on bag. If you come without a battle tank, ask for me upon arrival and if you can drive it safely, I will loan you one to use. This is a three day even that will be filled with RC tank action for three day and two night. Not to mention the vendors, demonstrations, re-enactors, model displays, wargamers, K9 demo, car crushing tanks, the museum displays and the live fire machine guns and flamethrower demonstrations.
This place will blow you mind!!! It is a must see.

PS I can't post pix right now. But I will when the RCU server is back to 100%.

Sounds great. I may have to talk the wife and see if she would go as well we could make a long weekend vacation of it. As for a tank I do not have one as of yet but I am working on getting one, hopefully soon!
Thanks for the invite and the use of a tank Commander, I do appreciate it but I hate to use other peoples stuff if I can get my own.But I will definitely keep that in mind though .
Thanks again,
Ron

hi guys. it's tony checking in for duty(lol) thanks for posting all the pics and the video, they bring back some great memories of an awesome weekend we all had. for my first time there, i didn't want to leave. you guys where great, and i hope to see everyone of you again. bret and i are planning on going back to danville in march, i'm hooked(it wasn't hard to do) i should have my own tank this time around, even though a few of you offered for me to use one of yours(thank you) i had my hands full with the one of bret's i was running. i want to say what a great hobby you guys have, i never knew how much fun it could be. on a battle field, fighting with others(what can i say). me and bret would just play with a few of his together, but it's so much better at danville. i wish everyone well, and happy tanking. see you guys in march.
ps. i'll let bret know about this thread, so he can check in to

Don't let the distance bother you. We had a club from Florida carpool up here....I think it was an 8-1/2 hour trip. And Jersey Bob comes down all the time too...and that's about 8 hours. Maybe you can find other tankers in the region to carpool with you to split the cost/driving...
